quarries & the environment

Tiffany & Kinawa Granite Granite Quarries
Although Granite quarries do have an environmental impact, the actual footprint of quarries is tiny in comparison to say Soya farms in Brazil. The quarry in the photo has been a working quarry for 14 years the actual size of the quarry is about a football pitch in size.
Tiffany & Kinawa Granite Employment + Social

Granite quarries employ more people per acre than farming for example. Farming in Brazil often results in large areas of forest being bulldozed and grass for cattle sown.

Wages are higher than farming and therefore the social benefits are more rewarding.

Tiffany & Kinawa Granite However

Granite quarries do have an environmental impact. Bracuhy has experienced environmentalists working at the quarries over seeing issues and planning for the future

quarries and environmental problems

what we are doing?

Bracuhy has an experienced environmentalist on site. We aim to replant native forest on the surrounding farmland to cover 3 times the area that is being used by the quarry.

An environmental impact study has been carried out;
A waste study is to be carried out in 2005;
An energy and water usage study to be completed in 2005;
Dust reduction in place;

Please contact us if you require answers to any environmental questions you may have. Or indeed if you have any suggestions in regards to environmental issues at granite quarries.

We are aiming to improve.
